Apple Pudding

Here is the recipe for the apple pudding that we had the other day. I would call it apple cake. This is a very old recipe from Reatha Lake's mother-in-law. I like old simple recipes so here it is. It might be very good for Thanksgiving.

Apple Pudding
1/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 cups raw sliced apples
1 cup of flour
1 egg beaten
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1/2 cup nuts
1/2 cup raisins
Cream shortening & sugar. Add egg. Sift flour, salt, cinnamon, and soda together and add to cream mixture. Add apples, nuts, and raisins and mix well. Bake in an 8 x 8 x 2 pan in 350* oven for 30 minutes.
